- Delete. The person is a non-notable sportsman in a minor league. --MPorciusCato (talk) 04:26, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- Delete. A simple Google search demonstrates that he fails general notability guidelines. Jrcla2 (talk) 14:18, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
CommentKeep. The subject is a Finnish high school student and a seven-foot, five-star basketball recruit. WP:NHSPHSATH imposes a heightened notability standard for high school athletes. Here, however, the subject arguably passes even this heightened standard, having received significant coverage in major national media outlets, including ESPN.com here,MSN here,CBS Sports here, Sports Illustrated, and Fox Sports here. See also this piece from the Arizona Daily Star. He also has a well-developed biography on Finnish Wikipedia (https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lauri_Markkanen) with citations to numerous Finnish sources providing prolonged coverage of the subject. While articles on high school athletes are appropriately discouraged, this one appears to be an exception to the rule. Cbl62 (talk) 16:43, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- Cbl62, please note that I'm pursuing this deletion on two claims: BLP no sources, and notability. Before discussing notability at any length, you should address the former issue, since it's a clear violation of BLP policy that results in deletion. - Done. No longer a BLP issue. Cbl62 (talk) 17:23, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Keep I think he meets GNG. Some surfaced by Cbl62, plus I just read this CBS Sports feature piece last week. Rikster2 (talk) 18:47, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
